Side ladder clear drill

This drill is a comprehensive tool that enhances the team’s ability to clear the ball, advance quickly, and work together in a coordinated and effective manner.

Objective: Improve the team’s ability to clear the ball and advance quickly up the field.

Structure of the Drill:

Initial Positioning:

Place three lines of players next to the goalie.

Each line represents a different route that the players will follow.

First Line: (#2 in the image)

The first player in this line makes a banana cut to the outside.

The goalie clears the ball to this player.

Second Line: (#3 in the image)

The second player moves out and gets ahead of the first player who received the clear.

This player receives the pass from the first player.

Third Line: (#4 in the image)

The third player runs down the field, making a long pass.

This player should receive the third pass in the corner, near the substitution box.

Steps of the Drill:

Initial Clear:

The goalie clears the ball to the first player making the banana cut.

First Pass:

The first player receives the ball and quickly passes to the second player who has moved ahead.

Second Pass:

The second player receives the ball and makes a long pass to the third player running down the field.

Final Reception:

The third player receives the pass in the corner, near the substitution box.
