Drill Description

  1. Split the group into two teams, with each team lined up at opposite restraining lines.

  2. Play begins:

    • A player from Team A starts with a ball and sprints toward the goal.

    • His goal is to attack fast and take a quality shot, ideally within a few seconds.

  3. Transition phase:

    • Once the shot is taken (goal or miss), the player must immediately drop back into a defensive stance.

    • Simultaneously, a player from Team B begins his offensive run with a ball from his team’s line.

  4. 1v1 battle:

    • The player from Team A, who just shot, now plays on-ball defense against the new attacker from Team B.

    • After the play ends (goal, turnover, or recovery), the defender returns to his line, and the attacker from Team B stays to become the next defender.

Drill Variations

  • Include a goalie to make shot selection more realistic.

  • Start from different locations: top center, alley, X (behind goal) to work various approaches.

  • Keep score: 1 point per goal, 1 point for a defensive stop—add stakes and intensity.
