Quick Passes and Decision-Making Training
This drill is an excellent combination of warm-up, passing accuracy, and cognitive training. It helps players improve their quick response ability, decision-making, and precision in passing under pressure.
Drill Objective
Improve passing accuracy and speed.
Develop decision-making in dynamic situations.
Enhance concentration and reaction speed.
Strengthen communication between players.
Required Equipment
2 lacrosse balls.
A designated playing area.
Drill Development
Setup:
Form groups of four players: three passers and one receiver in the center.
Two of the passers start with a ball each.
Execution:
The passers continuously send the balls to the central player.
The central player must quickly return the ball to the only teammate without a ball at that moment.
The passing cycle repeats continuously, forcing the central player to think fast and react with precision.
Drill Rules
The central player cannot hold both balls at the same time.
She must constantly observe who does not have a ball and pass it immediately.
A time limit or set number of repetitions can be established before rotating roles.
Drill Variations
Beginner Level: Start with one ball until players get familiar with the dynamic.
Advanced Level: Increase the passing speed or add a third ball for more difficulty.
Add Movement: The passers can move within a designated area to increase complexity.
Role Rotation: Rotate the central player every 30-45 seconds so everyone practices decision-making.
Drill Benefits
