Quick Hitch C-Cut Drill

Setup:

Two Lines: One positioned at the top corner (from the end line perspective) that will start with the ball, and another at the side even with the goal line extended.

Execution:

1. Hitch and Move: The first girl in the top corner line begins the lacrosse drill with a quick hitch move, simulating a dodge to create space and freeze the defender.

2. Feed: After the hitch, the player makes a precise pass to her teammate cutting towards the ball.

3. C-Cut: The receiving girl executes a sharp “C” cut, curling towards the front of the goal to create a strong shooting angle, bringing her face-to-face with the passer.

4. Catch and Shoot: The player catches the pass in stride, quickly pivots, and releases a shot on goal, aiming for the corners.

Coaching Points:

Quick, Sharp Movements: Emphasize speed and precision during the hitch and C-cut to replicate game conditions.

Accurate Passing: Ensure the pass is crisp and leads the shooter into a smooth transition for her shot.

Focus on Finishing: Shooters should prioritize freeing their hands and finishing quickly, aiming for the corners to challenge the goalie.

Flow and Rotation: Rotate lines after each repetition to maintain a dynamic flow and keep all players engaged.

Purpose:

This lacrosse drill mimics real-game scenarios, helping girls build muscle memory for quick decisions and precise execution under pressure. The goal is to develop their ability to make instinctive plays, resulting in more accurate and confident shooting.
