Random drill

This drill is from the PLL Academy Instructional Series.

This focuses on the fundamentals of playing one on one defense from the midfield.

We like to cut the field in half and keep the dodgers down the alley

This drill works on reaction opening hips up and getting hands on the offensive player.

How it works:
A coach standing behind the defender.
The defender can not see the coach
The coach is going place the cone one a side.
Call it the random drill because the coach randomly putting the cone somewhere
The defender does not know where the coach is putting the cone.
This is going to make the defender focus on stance and reacting

First whistle he blows is going to release the defender.

As the defender is midway the coach is going to blow a second whistle which will release the player with the ball to attack the cone that was placed by the coach.

Focus on proper stance staying lower than the offensive player and just popping hips open and getting into a crossover run and reacting.
