Carry & fill man up scheme out of a 3-3 set

Formation Setup:

• The man-up offense should set up in a formation that allows for quick ball movement and opens up shooting lanes.

• The most common formation is the “3-3,” where three middies play high and three attackmen play low.

Carry and Fill Concept:

• If you favor the dodge and fill philosophy, the carry and fill concept will work well for your man-up offense.

• Simple scheme steps:

• If the ball carrier is coming at you, clear to the crease.

• If you’re in the crease and someone is coming to take your place, fill the spot the ball carrier vacated.

• This strategy forces the defense to shift, respecting the ball carrier and creating open opportunities.

Execution and Opportunities:

• The concept can create numerous open looks from the roll back, skip pass, or stepping in for a shot if executed well.

• The player filling the vacated spot is often open for a roll back pass, positioning them to shoot or distribute as the defense rebalances.

Flexibility:

• This concept can be executed from various spots on the field, providing multiple attacking options and increasing the likelihood of scoring.

You can do this from a variety of spots as shown in the image above.
